3 day Haute Route Ventoux

3 day Haute Route Ventoux
A shorter format Haute Route becomes even more appealing with its single central location. With three ascents of legendary Mont Ventoux, some beautiful cols in its foothills and the incomparable landscapes of French Provence, the inaugural Haute Route Ventoux promises three days of memorable cycling from October 6th to 8th 2017. For this three-day event, riders will cover 107km and 141km on the first two stages respectively, followed by a 22km Individual Time Trial from Bédoin on the Sunday. Each stage will start in Bédoin and finish with one of the three ascents of Mont Ventoux. Finishing atop the Géant de Provence, riders will be able to collect their race-bag at the summit prior to descending into Bédoin for the services of the Haute Route village. The Haute Route Ventoux will be built from the same DNA as the full seven-day Haute Route events which are widely regarded as the pinnacle of amateur cycling in Europe. The key difference is that the Haute Route Ventoux will be based in one place for three days, hugely simplifying rider logistics, meaning riders can stay in one hotel, will no longer have to pack their bags before each stage and will be able to bring family and friends along as well. With its accommodating schedule (late arrivals on the Thursday and early finish on the Sunday) hundreds of cyclists are expected for the inaugural edition in October 2017.
